Our Vision
Empowering humanity with the means for survival…through water, sanitation,
hygiene, and education.
Our Mission
IHSAN's mission is to engage industry, academia, and individuals to form
a global alliance committed to empowering disadvantaged communities worldwide. IHSAN
will increase the availability of safe drinking water, adequate sanitation,
hygiene, and related education through sustainable development projects,
technology, and knowledge sharing.
Our Objectives
- Engage Industry, academia,
governments and individuals to support sustainable development projects
(water, sanitation, hygiene, education) through funding, knowledge
sharing and technological advances.
- Mobilize volunteer members through the
creation of IHSAN Regional Affiliates worldwide. Those members will
identify and implement sustainable development projects within their
respective geographic areas.
- Partner with Industry to identify, fund and carry
out social responsibility projects.
- While IHSAN Regional Affiliates
worldwide will engage local governments, industries and individuals
to identify and fund local projects, the IHSAN mother organization
( USA) will augment locally raised funds and provide central accounting,
transparency, auditing and knowledge on a global basis.
- Seek partnerships and knowledge
sharing with other NGO's, foundations, and entities with similar goals
and objectives.
- Regularly share project results, knowledge, and technology
with all global IHSAN Regional Affiliates and members to ensure continued
success.
- Create a mechanism for Industry to combine philanthropy
with profit generation.
Our Guiding Principles
- We strive to
empower humanity through sustainable development projects, technology,
and knowledge sharing to globally increase the availability of safe
drinking water, adequate sanitation, hygiene, and related education.
- We understand
our mission to partner with industry, governments, other NGOs, and
individuals to identify, raise funds and pursue these sustainable development
projects.
- We recognize our strengths come from the collective
technological, business, and academic expertise of our worldwide members.
- We encourage constant
dialogue and knowledge sharing by all members.
- We adapt to change
and look for alternative solutions to problems.
- We maintain a spirit
of volunteer work and collective ownership on all projects and initiatives.
- We understand the long-term nature of our mission.
- We promote transparency,
credibility, audit ability, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
- We
maintain a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian ethos.
- We
represent a true global alliance with a clear vision, a critical mission
and dedicated volunteer members.
- We respect that the individual interests
of our Industry partners and those of local communities may be divergent
and we seek means to develop win-win solutions.
- We will not
quit until all of humanity has sustainable access to safe drinking
water, basic sanitation and hygiene and related education.
